Current Developments

Park Street Lofts, Swansea

Work has began on 61 The Kingsway/26 Park Street (to be known as Park Street Lofts), to create 7 apartments for social rent (a mix of 1 and 2 beds), with help from funding from the Welsh Government Transitional Accommodation Capital Programme (TACP).

In addition to the apartments, there will be 2 commercial units, one on the Kingsway (formerly McDonalds) and the other on Park Street (formerly the Travel House). We’ve also been successful in receiving additional funding for the commercial units to install a green roof on the building via the Welsh Governments Transforming Towns Programme.

The contractors for this development are Easy Living Ltd with work starting in Summer 2024 with expected handover in Autumn 2025.

 

Kings Road, SA1 Swansea

This development is in the heart of Swansea’s SA1 waterfront and will deliver one commercial space for rent, 39 one bed apartments, 53 two bed apartments & 12 three bed apartments all for social rent.

The contractors for this site are Everstock Development & Pickstock Homes. This project started in Summer 2024 with handover anticipated in Spring 2027.

Beacon have received funding from Welsh Government’s Social Housing Grant programme.

Harvey Crescent, Port Talbot

This development situated in Aberavon, Port Talbot will bring 6 new homes, 3-two bedroom bungalow and 3-three bedroom houses all for social rent.

The project began in March 2024 and is making good progress for the anticipated handover in Summer 2025.

The contractors for this site are CJ Construction (Wales) Ltd and is part funded by the Welsh Government.

Llannon, Carmarthenshire

Situated in Llannon, Carmarthenshire, a short distance via footpath to Llannon Primary School, this site will bring 47 new homes for the area, all for social rent. These will include, 3 x two bedroom houses, 19 x 3 bedroom houses, 11 x four bedroom houses and 14 x 2 bedroom bungalows.

With a contract value of just over £13m, this site benefits from Social Housing Grant Funding from the Welsh Government and will be developed by Pennant Homes (subsidiary of Coastal Housing Group).

This development is expected to complete in Summer 2026.

 

Coed Darcy, Neath

Receiving funding from the Welsh Government’s Innovative Housing Programme, this exciting project brings the first modular homes to Coastal. With 50 homes in total, 8 modular and 42 traditionally built homes, this development will include bungalows, houses and flats all for social rent. With handover of the modular homes completed in Summer 2022, the final handover of the development is due Spring 2025.

Our modular homes were delivered in sections weighing 11 tons, that were then hoisted into place on a pre-prepared slab for connection to utilities and final works. All of the modular homes were manufactured off site by Ilke Homes and Daiwa House Europe, and then delivered to our site in Neath. Benefits of building modular homes include a shorter construction time as well as reducing carbon emissions by half of site built homes.

Clyndu Street, Morriston

This development of 9 new homes, all for social rent, started in June 2022 and will being 2 and 3 bedroom houses well-located near to Morriston town centre, Morriston Hospital, local schools and travel links via the M4.

The contractor for this site is Calon Construction Ltd and benefits from Social Housing Grant by the Welsh Government.

The houses have been designed to be in-keeping with the local area and anticipated to handover in early 2025.

 

 

Former Porthcawl Hotel, John Street

This development comprises of a comprehensive refurbishment with partial demolition programme, which at present includes the provision of 17 x 1 & 2 bedroom homes along with commercial units at ground and first floor. The contractor for this site is Easyliving Ltd.

The development is part funded by Welsh Government’s Transitional Accommodation Capital Programme (TACP) and is due for completion in Summer 2025.
